The "BIG" Tube Up Pipe
PERRIN has been known since their inception for the quality of their uppipe. The uppipe was the first product they ever released and has been a leader in this market ever since. They now introduce the next evolution of the up pipe. The Big Tube Up Pipe is for enthusiast who are using a larger stock location turbo and are limited by the flow rates of a stock sized up pipe. Precision CNC Bent Tubing 304 stainless steel tubing is CNC mandrel bent and precisely welded to perfection. Perrin's precision CNC bent tubing eliminates the need for a flex joint, which is a major weakness in other up pipes including the OEM pipe. Flanges Flanges are all CNC machined from 1/2", 304 stainless steel to prevent warping. Flanges are now counter on the backside for smoother transition from header to tube and up pipe to header. The center bores of the flanges are port matched for a smoother exhaust flow. Proper sized ports increase exhaust velocity and assure gaskets will not burn out. Critical Correct Sizing The PERRIN Big Tube Up Pipe has a 2" diameter which best matches aftermarket headers and the inlets of aftermarket turbos. Fits: - WRX 2002-2009* - STi 2004-2009 - Legacy GT 2005-2009* - Forester XT 2004-2009* *NOTE: These models contain OEM catalytic converters in their uppipe, and it is NOT legal for use or installation within the United States on those applications. However, Canadian, Japanese, European and other markets may allow for replacement. Contact your local government prior to ordering for these areas. For those installing this part on race cars, there is an EGT sensor that is installed into OEM uppipe. This part has been proven to fail and destroy turbos in racing applications. Perrin purposefully eliminates the EGT bung to prevent turbo failure. A CEL will occur after installation of the uppipe in this situation, unless a 2.2Kohm resistor is installed across the OEM female plug. These can be found at most any RadioShack.
